Last week we released Polkast 2.0. Included among many usability enhancements is support for retina display and deeper integration with iPhoto. Mac users, this one’s for you.
Photo/video viewing is the top use of iPads and Android tablets. It’s the modern use case – you want all your content available to you on all of your devices — that’s why we built Polkast. And large media libraries are where Polkast really stands out from the pack of cloud storage solutions. The average photo library far exceeds the 5GB free cloud storage limit or the 1,000 photo stream in iCloud, trapping so many of your photos. Personally, I take a ton of photos and videos of my family, and I’ve been frustrated by the 5GB warning messages and impatient with the syncing and waiting. We free you from those restrictions — so you can enjoy and share all of your photos and videos from anywhere, not have to decide which ones you access or limit yourself to only the most recent taken.
The latest Polkast app update lets you view your photos by Photo, Album or Timeline, to match your structure in iPhoto and other folders on your computer. And you can upload photos from your mobile directly into an iPhoto album (or a folder) over the air. It’s the fastest way to load photos from you iPhone to your Mac — especially when you’re on Wi-Fi. And then your photos are also instantly available on your iPad or Windows computer. Just sit back on the couch and enjoy!
When it comes to viewing and sharing pictures or videos, cloud storage really doesn’t compare to Polkast. Why hassle with managing cloud storage limits when you can have it all.
Make sure you update your Polkast app on each of your computers and mobile devices to get full use of the new features. And check out the one minute video demo of our iPhoto integration iPhoto Access

Polkast rocks and is a great solution, but I wish for two easy upgrades.. Integration with dropbox putting downloads on multiple devices and direct integration into Pages. Other than that and regardless of that Polkast is essential to the joy of connectivity.
Hi Glenn, Thank you for your suggestions. Please feel free to reach out to both Pages (Apple) and Dropbox to share these ideas. We would do likewise with them. Meanwhile, you can include dropbox folder in you HB and the content in it should be available to you from your Polkast devices.
Hi
I also love your app but as a new comer to it, I am still grappling with how I move multiple photos off my iPad to my Windows-based computer. While I can see how to do this with photos in the iPad’s “Camera Roll”, Polkast doesn’t seem to allow me to choose Albums or photos I have imported from my camera. Is there some way of doing this that I haven’t found as yet?
Cheers, Jim
Hi Jim, you’re right that currently you can upload multiple photos and videos from the camera roll only. We will expand to upload other photos stored on your mobile within the next few months. It helps to get your feedback to escalate the priority of the feature – thanks!
Hi..
loving Polkast running on my NAS and i can connect no problem.. however i want to allow my partner to use the same from her phone ect…. Do i have to give her my polkast account logon details or will there be a future release to add additional acounts to one polkast NAS ??
Hi Jonny, Check back with us in a few months. We will cook up something cool for you.
I love it but is there a way to have the option not to have my music album cover mixed with my photos?
